A New Layout!

So this is it.........my first scrapbooking layout in a VERY long time! And of course it is going to be about Molly, our purple girl! Spent time over at my aunt and cousins house this past Sunday and I got this layout partially finished before we put together shower invitations for my sister-in-law. I finished the rest of this layout at home and I am pretty happy with how it turned out!! I love to look at all the pictures of Molly to see just how little she was! Awwww :) Let me know what you think!!

Journaling says:

Friday June 5, 2009 – The day we brought Molly home!! I just couldn’t wait until after work to see her so I had Josh bring her to see me at work. She was so cute and so small, everyone who saw her just fell in love; Including me and Josh! I’m pretty sure she fell in love with us right away too!

We fixed her a bed in our kitchen and put up a baby gate so she couldn’t get loose in the house and pee on our carpets. We had so much fun playing with her in the yard when we got home from work and she was so happy to see us. Our family is complete! Just the three of us.

Thanks for looking! I hope to be doing a lot more of this in the near future!

MS Walk

This past Saturday me and Josh volunteered for the Enerflex MS Walk down in the riverbottom. It was actually a lot of fun. It really amazed me how many people had volunteered and how many people were walking/running and how much money was raised for MS. So awesome! It really didn’t take a lot of our time…just a half hour meeting on the Wednesday before and then on the day of the walk we were there from 8:00 to 12:30. We met some nice people, helped out a good cause and got to do something different for a change. The start/finish line was at Fort Whoop Up, and that’s where all the sponsor tents, the DJ, the food tables and the information booths were set up. There was all kinds of yummy food for us to eat too so that was nice, cinnabuns, fruit, donuts and pizza!

They even had the fort rooms opened up so we could see the armory rooms and some of the sleeping quarters and the kitchen. Really neat, I haven’t been to the Fort since I was in elementary so it was really cool.
For the actual volunteer part we were checkpoint sitters and we were sitting right near the High Level Bridge handing out water and cheering people on. Not a bad job at all and we had plenty of time to sit and talk about all the future plans for the house, the garage and our future family :)

This was a really great day and we felt really good after having spent some time volunteering! We are definitely going to do it again next year, and we are looking for other ways to volunteer, including the Relay for Life which we are going to try to do this year too!

Our litte furball is ONE today!

I can't believe it, but it is true...Molly is one year old today. It seems like only yesterday that Josh picked her up from the breeders (when she was about 6.5 weeks old) and brought her to see me at my work (I couldn't wait until after work to see her). She was this little ball of fur, only 9.5 pounds and easily fit snuggly into our arms. And oh those first couple of nights with her, she was literally up every 2 hours (we had her on a bed in the kitchen with a baby gate up so she couldn't get loose) and oh those cries and whines. And as soon as she saw one of us come into the kitchen she would try to climb as high up our legs until we would pick her up and hold her, then all was right with the world. She was for sure our baby and we were for sure her mommy and daddy! xoxo
Well today she is definately full grown, she is 85 pounds and there is no way I would be able to pick her up now, even Josh can barely hold her for long, just long enough to weigh her.

I made her a cute hat for her birthday and we got her a couple of presents, a nice bone and this huge rope, which she loves. And the whole point of a rope this big and tough is so that she doesn't destroy it in a matter of minutes. We gave her a new stuffed toy just last week...it is now completely torn apart and there is no stuffing left in it :)
She has been such a wonderful dog and we enjoy her so much. She has such an attitude sometimes, and then other times she just wants to cuddle and give kisses. And boy oh boy is she smart, she has picked up so many tricks and she definately has a way of getting what she wants! We are looking forward to many more birthday celebrations with her! xoxo Love you Molly <3

snow day, our painted garage and sunshine at stafford lake

WOW what a crazy and busy week it has been.

For those of you who don’t live here and didn’t have to ‘suffer’ through what we did I will share…Tuesday evening it started snowing (yes snowing on April 13) and I thought ‘oh okay it will snow for a bit and then it will stop and melt’ Well by bedtime it still hadn’t stopped snowing and I didn’t think anything of it.

Well we woke up to like 8 inches of snow covering everything on Wednesday.

The road reports all said poor driving conditions and apparently most of South and North Lethbridge had lost power overnight. We still had power Wednesday morning. My work called and told me to call them back when I knew what was happening on my end. We I tried calling them back like 15 min later only to have the phone ring and ring and ring (I had totally forgotten that landlines run on power…silly me) Well finally someone from work called me at like 9:30 from their cell phone to tell me they still didn’t have power and to not bother coming into work…so I didn’t. YEAH SNOW DAY!!! I was happy until about 30 min later when we lost power :( which means no TV, no internet and no Wii. So what did we do…we brought out one of our puzzles from Christmas and worked away on that. Nice and relaxing! Josh also went outside and played with Molly in the snow for a bit and then we all took and nice long nap…under lots of blankets because the furnace runs on power too and our house was 16 degrees by the time the power came back on at 4:30. What a crazy day!

When we went back to work on Thursday that just meant we were one day closer to the weekend! And boy was our weekend busy! Friday night we ended up having drinks with some of our neighbors and we all ended up at the local bar (aka hole in the ground) and needless to say the night was a little more than we bargained for…we ended up walking home, lucky it is only like 15 blocks from our house and most of the snow had melted by then.

Saturday and Sunday we decided to push ourselves and get the garage painted. I am proud to say that we succeeded!! We cleaned the entire garage, organized what is in there so we could move the ladder around and masked off the windows, doors and electrical panel. My DH had borrowed a spray gun from work and that made it much faster to get the painting done. It still took a total of over 6 hours to prime and paint, but I am sure that it was faster than rolling!
Sunday afternoon was so beautiful…a stark contrast to Wednesday. We went to Stafford Lake to visit with family and to move my parents boat lift before any more water was let into the lake. All went well and we all had some good food and soaked up lots of sunshine.
All in all it was a great week/weekend!

finally

Things are finally starting to come together. Our garage will be ready for primer and paint next weekend, ceiling texture the next weekend and then install lights and shelves. Yeah!! That means that a lot of the "junk" in our basement will be making its way out to the garage!! Really this is all about me, I know it sounds funny because the garage is my DH's space. Once things start to move out of my basement then I might, just maybe, have some space to organize my scrapbooking stuff so that I can actually work on some things instead of just dreaming about them. I'm so excited I can hardly wait. Oh and I was looking at shelves online at Ikea, they are too cute and would work perfectly for all my scrapbook things. I guess I have waited for 2 1/2 years, what is it going to matter if it takes another 4 weeks. Don't worry, there will be pictures when things are done.

Days until the end of my 101 things in 1001 days!
