2011 Resolutions

Since we are headed into 2011 I thought we could choose 11 projects or goals to focus on in 2011.  Some of them are physical tasks, some are emotional/mental tasks and some are combinations.  But if we can accomplish even some of these things (or all of them :)) then 2011 has the potential to be a great year! I'm sure it will be anyways but it is always a good feeling to cross things off your list! :) So here it is:

11 Goals in 2011

1. Maintain our healthy lifestyle choices;
a. Start doing weekly meal plans
b. Join a workout class at the college
c. Make weekly schedules for working out and for walking Molly

2. Complete all necessary home renovations in order to sell our house;
a. Painting/Staining everything that needs it
b. Finish the Deck
c. Finish the Garage
d. Start and finish Basement

3. Help Jocelyn and Jared plan their wedding with as little stress as possible;

4. Better organize our time so that we have time for keeping our house the way we like it, time for family and time with friends

5. Make time for Scrapbooking – Spend at least 1 hour per week (more would be better);
a. Finish our “Vacation 2005” album
b. Start and finish my “secret project”

d. Start our “Wedding” album
e. Start our “Honeymoon” album
f. Start our “Vacation 2009” album
g. Do some individual ‘one off’ pages too

6. Do everything in our power to give Josh the best chance possible of getting on with the Lethbridge Regional Police;

7. Continue using the “cash only” budget and continue to reduce debt and save money;

8. 52 Photos – Take one couple photo per week (on Friday or Saturday) more photos are good but no less than 52;

9. Fix up and sell my car, find a suitable replacement;

10. Give more (financially, emotionally, physically, and time wise);
a. Give to each other
b. Give to family
c. Give to friends
d. Give to charity

11. Do a complete overhaul of our paperwork (bills, certificates, warranties, personal papers etc.)

This year I want to 'create'! I want to create a healthy life, I want to create fun things with my hands, I want to create lasting bonds between friends and family, I want to create a very useable, beautiful and comfortable house, I want to create a sense of security in our finances and I want to create many happy memories. :)

I want to create our best life! :)

Our Christmas Celebrations 2010

First things first....we celebrated my mom's birthday on December 18 and had so much fun. Me and Josh baked a birthday cake at home

then Joceyln decorated it when we got to my parents house.

We got my mom a bracelet and ring set and a beautiful leather jacket! It looks so good on her! So happy she has something nice to wear now!

Then came Christmas. We celebrated early (on Monday Dec 20) with Josh's parents and Sarah and Mike because they were going to Vancouver for Christmas to see Mike's family. We had a wonderful supper and then we opened presents and played a very fun game of things! Love that game.

Then we had Christmas dinner with Josh's family on Christmas Eve. Such good food, almost too much haha, and we watched Josh's cousin Benjamin open his presents and just hung out and chated. It was a really nice night.

We stopped by my parents house for a few minutes and then we headed home.  When Josh went to unlock the passenger side door of my car to get in because the automatic locks weren't working he broke the key off in the lock. We ended up fiddling with the locks from the driver's side and eventually got the door open, but the key is still in there, not sure how we are getting it out yet.  We got home about 11:30 to find that someone had parked in front of our house so we had to park down the block and carry our stuff into the house.  Josh still had all of my presents to wrap so I got ready for bed and fell asleep almost right away.  He tells me he didn't get to bed until about 12:45.

Christmas morning I was up at 6:45 letting Molly out of her kennel.  She was barking to get let out, and I'm sure she knew that it was a special day :) I wrapped two last gifts for Josh for his stocking while Molly sniffed out the treats in her stocking. Too cute :)

Once Josh was awake we opened our stockings and unwrapped all our presents.  We both did really well this year!! We went to my grandma's house for breakfast at 10:00, then we went home to feed Molly lunch and change our clothes.  We headed over to my parents house at 2:00 and stayed there for the rest of the night.  We had such a great time! We got some great family pictures! Oh and I got to finally meet my cousin's baby girl, her name is Kennedy. What a cutie!

All in all we had a great Christmas.  It went by too fast like always but that's okay, because it always seems to be a lot of work too :) haha
I went to the mall on Boxing day with Jocelyn, Justin and my mom.  We got some great deals and it wasn't even that crazy out.  I sent Josh over to Best Buy late in the morning to scope out cameras and I absolutely love our new camera.  It is a Sony Cyber Shot which is waterproof, shockproof and coldproof!!! And it is super tiny! I'm still discovering all the features, there is so much to learn!

Craving something healthy

After all the turkey, mashed potatoes, perogies, and lots of desserts and chocolate I was craving something much healthier!! Supper tonight was stir fry chicken and veggies. The 'sauce' I used this time was Kraft Mandarin Orange and Sesame salad dressing :) It was soooo good!!! This definately made my tummy happy :)

As I type this I am uploading all our pictures from my mom's birthday, Christmas and our Boxing Day purchases! A post with those photos will follow this one soon (as in today or tomorrow) And yes...it will be up before New Years! Also our New Years resolution list will be up too! :)

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Today feels like it should be Monday…..I’m sure glad it’s not!!! It being Tuesday means that I only have 2 days of work left this week!!! And then only 4 days of work next week and then it’s CHRISTMAS!! OMG when did Christmas get here?? I guess I better get a move on and finish my shopping, wrapping, baking and card making!! Last weekend we went to my Christmas party and had a great time! Limos to and from home, a great dinner at Ricky's and drinks and hanging out at my bosses house!

I had a busy weekend planned for us this past weekend….but then Friday morning happened. I was walking to work from my car and I slipped on a patch of ice :( I didn’t fall down but I kinda flailed my arms and neck and back and ended up twisting my neck and shoulders funny. Oh it hurt so much. I took some pain killers when I finally got into work and just waited to see if they helped any. By lunch time I wasn’t feeling any better so I left work and went to the walk in clinic after lunch. The doctor said I pulled the muscle pretty badly and he gave me a prescription for anti inflammatorys and muscle relaxants. So Friday night ended up being a write off, we rented Inception and cozied up on the couch, which was good cuz the drugs made me really sleepy. Saturday morning I went for my spa day and I’m so glad I had booked it! I had a massage and the lady said that I was really tense and knotted up so she let me use their infrared sauna for half an hour! That was bliss! Then I had a pedicure and a manicure! So nice to be pampered for the day! My neck is still pretty stiff and sore, hopefully time and drugs will help it feel better!

Saturday night we had Josh’s Christmas party. We got all dressed up and headed to the Lodge for dinner, drinks and entertainment by the Chevelles. It was a great night despite my hurting neck. Sunday morning we went to my parents house for brunch and to visit with Jocelyn! Her and Jared made it home late Saturday night! So happy they are home. Christmas is going to be so great this year!

 Yesterday was such an awesome, busy day!! Me, my mom and my sister’s friend Jamie took Jocelyn out wedding dress shopping!!! Oh how much I love doing that :) (too bad Jossy is really the last person for a while that I get to do that stuff with) We started our day at 11:00 at Bella Fiore, we picked out about 10 dresses for her to try on and we sat there with our cameras in hand!! She is so beautiful and everything she tried on looked great on her! Of course she can only have one dress…..and that dress is going to be a big secret until next summer, but I can share a few of the ‘not so much’ pile!!

We then went for lunch at O Sho’s…..ummmmm so good, glad I wasn’t trying on dresses cuz I was so full!! We then went to Once Upon a Bride and since we had a good idea of what we were looking for we only picked 5 dresses for her to model. After trying on the first 4 she took one look at the fifth and said she wasn’t even trying it on. Funny how having a deadline really makes you narrow it down fast. She has 2 dresses in mind, but I’m sure I know which one she will pick (and I LOVE it!!!) Seriously so happy for her and I know that her wedding will be beautiful!!

I'm super happy that we decorated last week for 2 reasons: 1 being that I don't think that I could possibly find the time with how busy things have been and 2 becuase I get to enjoy the decorations for that much longer!! Love this time of year (except the cold and snow, well I like the snow when I'm inside and warm and it looks pretty!!) I love how our tree turned out this year! And we already have presents under it!! And I've been working on our Christmas cards too, almost all done!

Looking forward to the rest of this week. Only 2 more days of work. Wednesday I’m taking some jewelry over to my friends house for her and a couple of friends to look at. Friday I have the day off and I think I am going to try to finish my shopping, spend some more time with Jossy and Mom and try and get a few more of the little things crossed off my list. Hopefully my plans actually come through!!

Days until the end of my 101 things in 1001 days!
